COMMUNITY THANKSGIVING SERVICE sponsored by Fullerton Interfaith Ministerial Association (FIMA) will begin here on Tuesday, Nov. 24 at 7:00pm. Our own Pastor Sara McCurdy will officiate. Please join us for a time of fellowship afterward with refreshments.
INVITE SUNDAY will be December 6. It will be a nice day to bring visitors to Morningside as it is Advent Season, with all of its special meaning and traditions. We all will be looking forward to Christmas, and there will be many special events to enjoy during the month. The Choir Cantata will take place on Sunday, December 13, and Christmas Eve service will take place at 7:30pm on Thursday, December 24.
MORNINGISIDE WELCOMES Living Grace Church. Living Grace Church began nesting here on November 1, 2009. We are pleased to have them use our facility to help grow their church. You will see them worshipping and gathering in our Parlor and Hall on Sundays, Wednesday, and Fridays. Their Pastor is Rev. Kevin Liu.
Might you be interested in singing in the church choir? If you enjoy singing and can meet for rehearsals on Wednesdays from 7:30pm-9:00pm and Sundays at 9:15am, please contact the church office. Church membership is not required, just a love of singing Christian songs for worship. We can put you in touch with the choir leader and see if this ministry is right for you. Seasonal singers are also needed for just the Christmas and Easter seasons, so if you cannot commit for the whole season (September through June), schedules for these special religious holidays can be provided.
OTHER REMINDERS: • The next deadline for the submission of items for our newsletter will be 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 8. (Monthly articles and announcements must be submitted by 5:00 p.m. on the second Tuesday of every month.)
• Electronic articles & announcements for the monthly newsletter must be submitted to the editors of the newsletter at this e-mail address: mpclogos@sbcglobal.net. It is suggested that the church office be "cc:'d" the same information in order to have it for the weekly worship bulletin's announcements page and the church master calendar at mpchurch@sbcglobal.net. • Articles and announcements must be sent electronically in an editable form such as e-mail or file attachment to email; pdf files are not useable. This will mean that if you are not using email you will need to give your hard copy to someone on your committee who has that capability. Don’t panic. Lynda is here to help you with that transition.
CONGREGATION COMMUNICATIONS Newsletter and Website Changes
We got a whole new look to our monthly newsletter "Logos" in May 2009, and we're developing our website. These two forms of communication will help us stay up-to-date on all that is happening here at MPC.
