The Life of Morningside

OUR LIFE IN WORSHIP

We have a mix of traditional/liturgical and contemporary style of worship services. Our worship services are at 10:00 a.m. on Sundays. They follow the traditional style, except on the third Sunday of the month when we have a praise service in mostly the contemporary style of worship.

We have a Chancel Choir that sings anthems during regular worship services and a Praise Team the leads in music during praise services. (Choir is off in summer).

Worship is the heart of our life as a congregation. It is the time when we bring our thanksgiving and praise to God and share in the joy of God's salvation revealed to us in Jesus Christ.

SERVING OTHERS IN MISSION

Our Local Mission Ministries support the Fullerton Inter-Faith Emergency Service, (a feeding and housing program
for the needy and homeless), and the hot meals program for the needy in our neighborhood.

Our Global Mission ministries support the world-wide mission enterprises of the Presbyterian Church (USA), which include evangelistic, medical, educational and humanitarian projects. Disaster Relief holds a high priority for us. Special Offerings for Peacemaking, One Great Hour of Sharing, Christmas Joy, and Pentecost are also regular features of our missions emphasis.

An annual Mission Fair highlights all these projects and brings their representatives on our campus for display and promotion of their work.

CHRISTIAN LIFE IN FELLOWSHIP

The active Christian life also includes time together in events of recreation, dining, and social gatherings.  The third Sunday of each month brings us together for a potluck lunch following worship. Other activities are arranged throughout the year.

MEMBER CARE AND NURTURE

Care and concern for our members are high priorities for us. Our Board of Deacons carefully keeps in touch with members and our pastor follows through with personal, home and hospital visits as needs may arise.  We have an active prayer chain that particularly brings to God important issues in our lives or those of our family members or friends.
