Here's Whats Going on in the Classrooms

Ms. Erica & Ms. Emily’s Two’s Class:

Welcome Everyone!  We are very excited to begin another school year with some of our returning friends and some new friends.  This month we will be talking about Family, Friends, Home, Community Helpers, Safety, Good Health, Good Manners and Basic Concepts.  Please send 3-4 pictures of your family so we may add to our family board.  Also, please have your child’s belongings labeled.  Every Monday will be our class video day and your child may bring book or a toy for share day ONLY on Fridays.  We look forward to a great month and please feel free to talk to us if you have any questions and/or concerns.                                            Miss Erica & Miss Emily

Ms. Katie & Ms. Nikki’s Three’s Class:                                                                      Hello September! Miss Nikki and I are eagerly anticipating an exciting and educational school year. During the month of September we will be learning about starting school, community helpers, healthy foods and, of course, the classroom rules and routine.  This year is an important step in the development and education of your child.  As the year progresses you will notice your child learning to be more self-sufficient and aware of the world around them.  We stress the importance of manners, courtesy and taking turns as well as working on sitting still and improving focus and cognition.  Please have your child at school by 9:10 a.m.  They will have a job to do everyday and if they are late they miss out on the lesson plan and their job. During this school year we will also be introducing and teaching the alphabet, (upper & lower case) numbers 1-20, shapes, colors, opposites and how to spell their first and last names.  They will also learn the days of the week, the months, seasons, and the weather.  Please review these subjects at home to aid in reinforcement.  We look forward to meeting all of our new students and their families.  Feel free to speak to Miss Nikki and me whenever you need to.  Thank you!                                                                                                                                                                                     Miss Katie & Miss Nikki

Ms. Kelly, Ms. Michaele’s Pre-K Class:

Wow! The summer is over and school is in session again!  Welcome back to everyone who has been gone for the summer and we want to say welcome to all our new students!

This month we will be studying community helpers, our family and home, friends, good health, and safety.  We will be learning about each other.  We will start to do beginning of the year evaluations and studying the letters, numbers, colors, shapes, and opposites.  The memory verse for this month is “Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path”.  Psalms 119:105.  Have a wonderful month!

                                                                                                             Ms. Jenny’s Kindergarten Class:

Welcome to Kindergarten!  This should be an interesting year.  With a new Raymond schedule for the first two months, it may be a little more difficult for a while.  Acacia’s schedule will remain the same.  Both groups will have a Wednesday early release day on Wed.  Please send a lunch to Morningside and a snack to their school.  Your child may leave his/her lunch in the cubby.  You can send lunch foods that need to be heated (cup of soups, pizza, etc.).  We have a microwave!  Your child needs a lunch everyday.  Please label your child’s things!  I am looking forward to a great year.  If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.

Mr. Jon, Ms. Nikki, Ms. Heidi, Ms. Katie & Ms. Cindy - Kid’s Connection:

What a summer we had!  Everyone had a great time!  A big THANK YOU to all who made this such an enjoyable summer.  We are sad to see it come to an end, but look forward to the beginning to our school year.  Good luck to our “Lone” 6th grade summer camper, Kyra Henderson, as she enters Junior High.  We also await our new 1st graders who will be beginning Acacia and Raymond schools.  For those who will be in our Kid's Connection program during the school year, please look for any information we send home.  Have a safe Labor Day weekend.  So long summer… Hello school year.
